HOW TO REDUCE RUNNING COSTS IN ENERGY-INTENSIVE COMPANIES
For these energy-intensive companies, characterised by high energy consumption, the supply voltage is usually increased to 500V, thus reducing the current absorbed for the same power and allowing the use of smaller power cables, thus saving money.
However, operating equipment requires a voltage of 400V, making it essential to use step-down transformers that not only provide galvanic isolation, but also lower the voltage from 500V to 400V safely and efficiently.
INSTALLATION OF AN ISOLATION TRANSFORMER IN A VERY HOT ENVIRONMENT
In this specific project, the isolating transformer had to be installed in a particularly hot environment.
To ensure optimal performance and operational safety, Ortea’s engineers developed a customised solution, designing a cabinet housing equipped with a cooling system using air conditioners. In addition, to ensure safe and practical integration, the electrical cabinet was completed with the installation of both input and output switches.
